Vontobel Hires Swiss Private Banking Head

Swiss private bank Vontobel has appointed
Jean-Pierre Stillhart as head of private banking for Switzerland. Stillhart, will
be based in Zurich and will report to Georg Schubiger, head of private banking;
he takes up the post on 1 October.
The bank confirmed to WealthBriefing that Stillhart has been appointed to replace Duri
Prader, who has left the company. Stillhart joins from Rothschild private bank,
where he was head of Swiss private clients. He has also previously worked for
Zürcher Kantonalbank and at UBS. “I’m very
pleased that Jean-Pierre Stillhart will be joining Vontobel as the head of our
very demanding Swiss private clients business. He has an excellent network in
the banking world and is an experienced private banker,” Schubiger said in a
statement. In other news, earlier this year, Vontobel shut its onshore private banking and wealth
management operations in Dubai and transferred them to Geneva. Investment
banking and related services continue to operate from the Middle East
jurisdiction.
